A Rabbit Stew!

Woke up as a rabbit;
Buck teeth, claws, wild whiskers,
Those carrot snacks reacted;
I should have settled for the biscuits!
My nose twitched periodically,
Sporadically tending to itch,
I used a paw to scratch it
As a cat would its 'snitch'!
Noises were so boisterous,
My hearing super-charged,
No wonder my ears appeared
So vertical, certified large!
Curiouser and curiouser
As Alice would have said,
I dabble in Lewis Carroll
As I hop out of bed!
What a strange phenomena
I'm a rustic rodent male
Probably known as Warren
If a name change prevails!
Black balls scattered all around
Wherever I have been,
Rabbit droppings sitting rotting;
I'm a house-proud casualty!
Alarmed no-one can see me,
Surprised I'm out of sight,
Eyes wide in bewilderment;
A rabbit caught in headlights!
Good fortune is apportioned
Between all bucks and does,
A rabbit`s foot is lucky,
Not for the rabbit though!
I realised I`d won a prize
Results had been delayed,
My treat from sleep was to be the unique
Easter Bunny for one day!
I don't wish to seem ungrateful
But is it really fair?
I'm hopping mad, feeling 'had';
The Easter Bunny is a hare!
