A Soul Lost in a Galaxy

A Soul Lost in a Galaxy

It was a sin, there was a broken yet beating heart. I was never good at poetry, I was never good at counting stars; but in your eyes I see a galaxy.

Standing in front of a piece of art. Only behind the painting, paints a new; paints a new reality full of insanity. Never was there love, as the moon says goodbye to the sun and the sun goodbye to the moon; you left me way too soon. Like a million horses my heart beat, like a summers day full of rain. For us it'll never be the same.

I look back on a childhood that never existed, back on a body with no soul. Years go by and all I do is tell lies. The truth is that in reality my life caused my insanity it caused these words to never pour out but build up like a volcano ready to explode. As the words bottle up I must let you know that the battle in my head at some points, makes me wish I were dead.

Only today is a new, only today is a chance to breath, to be relieved. I've written a thousand poems of love and lust now they've become old and are covered in rust. You will be nothing but a memory etched into my heart, now I no longer see what we used to be.

I have found a new light, my new future in sight. For I may I fell but I did not dwell in the sadness expressed by madness. Here I stand on the ledge of my oblivion, here I stand a broken soul; taped together with thoughts of the good times.
The times I smiled are washed away by waves of days that I went insane. Maybe at one point there was love, for in death there is a lone dove. I may never see you again, I will move on and love another. For some reason it seems, this incarnation is your dream.

I cannot stop you from your fall down a never ending gap in society, I cannot stop the wind from blowing. I have lost my voice and gained my will, at once I made the world stand still. And with my last sentence I say, you think I'm a poet but I'm just a broken shell of a person and we all know it.
