The Voice

"leave him? think while you can but thinking is all you can do. sure you can leave him, pick up your suitcase and walk out the door. but you'll be back, how do I know? you're stupid, you know this, yes? stupid? oh how can you of all people be stupid? well I'll tell you. because you'll push him away, say nothing, pack the bags push the kids and leave. where to go? what to do? you'll never make it far. you'll turn back go back to him I've seen you do it a million times. go out buy yourself a fancy new pair of sunglasses to hide that swollen black and blue eye you said you deserved. deserved? really is that a word to use? remember how you felt how you cried so hard you couldn't breath? when he left you, what did you do? you stayed in the bathroom with a bottle of pills in your hand and you took them all, your hand, cold and stuck around the bottle. you stupid, stupid girl. you'll never be able to leave him. you've never fully accepted he's left you. you felt trapped but really he just went to work, he would have been back. to find what? you've never had kids. you two aren't even together. you put up this elaborate fairy tale all in your head, an excuse for a young girls suicide. well I should get going, I can't tell you of all your mistakes all day, besides this graveyard closes at 7 but I'll be stuck here all day. because you are me, and I'm just another name hammered into a stone over a box full of bones."
