All That Glitters

All that glitters ain't gold
But truth be told
I bought what you sold
Your like a diamond to me
Beautiful and shiny
I'm in awe of your precious metal
Your touch is of a silky golden rose petal
Staring at me through Sapphire
Tinted lenses
Putting in my mind a vision of picket fences
Your skin is pearlescent and I want to cash in
Your not a prize to be won but still the trophy I aim to win
You sparkle like a cloth sewn with silver
A monument to beauty so iced out I shiver
That's why i will never need you to give me jewelry
Because your worth your weight in gold to me

this poem speaks for itself rhymes well like the last line also linda
Hi Luke I like the comparison of of precious metal
and gems to this lady that`s held in great esteem
Original phrasing that flows so well
Just a thought last but one line should it be" I"and not
you? will never need you to give me jewelry"
Great write
Best wishes Debs

Deborah

Luke
Reads lovely the last two lines are perfect :-)
Hey LUKE!!....CONGRATS on getting the nod from administration on this piece ......a lovely use of phrasing to describe the beauty in precious metals and use the comparison to create a VERY creative poem where the woman integral to the heart of the write is left sparkling as much as the poem itself......ALL STÄRS!!.......well done brother poet!!...... LOVE and ROCKETS!!.......T xo. ?
