Alone
Alone is where the heart is,
And harder is the night,
Within this eve of darkness,
Ice cold the Fahrenheit.
Alone is where the heart is,
Itβs fading staving beat,
A Β solemn single soul,
A life thatβs incomplete.
Alone is where the heart is,
And empty is the hand,
No other there for taking,
For my soul is truly damned.
Alone is where the heart is,
And alone is where it stays,
For my soul will walk forever,
In this darkness of malaise.

"A [solum] solemn single soul," ... I believe you may have meant "solemn" here, Lucy, as in somber or sad.
Brilliant rhyming combo with "stays" and "malaise" in the above stanza.
Solitude every now and again is a good thing. But loneliness can be soul crushing.
