Amber

Amber

Through aΒ break in defense, you observe, precariously, daringly, from your coverlet pitch

Solitaire scrutiny, glinting in the moonshine, savageΒ from hunger, voltaic with fear

Your charred shield burns my perception, Copper, Carmine and Crimson ignite in the gloom

Bittersweet creation, I am frozen in your gaze, and anguished from your tortured existence

Hounded to the brink of eternal sleep, you leave the despised with a pitiless plague
