Amber Eyes

Amber Eyes

Love is just a feeling, but more than that, a needing

For my withered legs are no longer able, my hands are crippled

And my feet in pain, I can not give myself in the way of the past

When my limbs were able, I had the life and lust to desire

With fire in my ribs, and the amber in your eyes, I fell to my knees

Begging for your love, though you gave it without shame, and I took it

The one who made me who I am, I am the falcon of the sky, and I will fly

With all my strength, as my youth will change, and I will look at myself

In a mirror and not know who I am, though your picture is in my mind and on my wall

Now there are many sick and bed ridden in this home, where I fall to sleep sitting up

I can't feed myself anymore, so someone sits at my dinner table and spoon feeds me

I don't remember where I am to go, but I do remember your eyes of gold

And your smile, and some day very soon, I will see you once again, and as birds

We will fly into the naked sky, with the kiss of promise, and the faith to carry us

Into the heavens hands that brought us to this life at first

My hunger is only for you, and my drink is only to be plentiful by your thirst
