And I'll miss you

I'll stand in the door
groceries in hand
and think about how you held it for me
I'll be in line at my favorite restaurant
and think of the way you kissed me
I'll pass your old street
and where we used to meet
the park where we first kissed
and let the memories wash over me
a kaleidoscope of colors and maybes
of things that should be
and I'll miss who we used to be
I'll wear my red lipstick
and dance a little too
and forget about who I was with you
my friends will think I'm okay
the skies a little less grey
But I'll still miss who I used to be
before I met you
I'll miss the way you moved
and how it felt to kiss you
to hold your hand
and love you too
I'll miss the way you laughed
And how I couldn't help but laugh back
and hide how much I cared about you
I'll miss the way you smell
and the notes we passed
and how I could never forget the sound of your laugh
and I guess I should forget
the promises made for regret
but I keep waiting
and I'll miss you
