As I watch you

As I watch you sleep, your belly rise and fall,
I often wonder if I'm giving you my all.
As I watch you walk, your footprint stays with me,
I often wonder what I'd be without you three.
As I watch you smile, your laughter's my delight,
I often wonder how I've raised you so polite.
As I watch you go to school, your youth has swiftly passed,
I often wonder why you have to grow so fast.
As I watch you blossom, your the apples of my eye,
I often wonder how I could ever say goodbye.
As I watch you cry, your tears drown my heart,
I often wonder how we could ever be apart.
As I watch you from up above, your lives must still go on,
I often wonder if I did my best now that I'm gone.

WOW!! EMMA!!.... there are several things about this piece that I REALLY liked ....but what stands out for me is that the narrator is already dead and the reveal is held until the final two lines...,THAT was brilliant and caught me off guard....... the flow is spot on (holds up when read aloud)....,,, and some of the images, searing...... watching your children grow to adulthood is beautiful and painful!!...,.one of the most powerful dichotomies in ALL of life.....,ALL STARS!!.....PINNED for content!!..... well done dear poet sister !!......LOVE and ROCKETS!!......T xo ?ā³ā“āā„
