BB Bats-A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned

BB Bats-A Penny Saved Is A Penny Earned
I just told Linda about a taffy sucker, that she’d never heard of before;
They’re called delicious “BB Bats”, I used to buy them at my old school store!
They only cost but a penny, and tasted so darn fine;
Strawberry and Banana were my favorites, so yummy on to dine!
.
Maybe they never came to Boston, but in Ohio they were rife;
And for only just one red cent each, they were the best buys of my life!
I thought they were long out of business, these goodies from my past;
But when Linda pulled them up on Google, almost a century do they last!
.
They’re still manufactured in New York State, the flavors just the same;
But the cost of them has changed a bit, the price went up in this poker game!
Now each one is twenty-nine cents, inflation personified;
But I’m still planning on ordering some, my old craving not to be denied!
.
.
They cost just one cent
So happy was this young man
With his sweet budget

I gotta admit that I've never heard of them either, Larry. And I've lived in Ohio nearly my entire life. In fact, I'm currently residing in southeast Ohio.
It's amazing they're still available. For those who love taffy, they sound delicious!
~Dean :)
Yo Dean.
Southeast Ohio? We live in Centerville, just south of Dayton. Where are you?
"Have gun, will travel".
We have to get together so I can drive you "Batty".
Peace and Love,

I live in Sardinia, Ohio, Larry.
My father is a patient at the Wood Glen Alzheimer's Community home on Summit Glen Dr. in Centerville so I am there quite a bit.
It's a small world, isn't it?
Dear Dean,
Give us a call the next time you are coming this way, because if you have the time, we'd love to get together.
It's a small world indeed!!
Peace and Love,
Larry xxx
P.S. We're sending a PM with our phone numbers.
Hello Larry...
Those were the days...
You didn't need a magnifying glass to find what you bought...
I remember going to the Candy Shops and proudly heading home with my small paper bag almost full on 50 cents...
Some things were 3 cents and some were 5 cents...
Inflation of price deflation of product...
Who's bright idea was that and everyone thought it was a great idea?
People didn't make that much per week but, you could buy a house for $15,000 that same house you can get today for the price of $300,000...
Everyone says...
YAY!
Great write!
Thank you for sharing...
Hugs...

"We thought they'd never end"
My how times have changed. I think those of us that grew up in those days of yore, all long to return to them again.
Thank you for your most beautiful comment.
All my love,
