Bear Attack

The unending forest was more than I could bear,
When suddenly in front of me, I spotted a bear.
Instantly I froze, standing at attention.
Hoping I hadn’t yet caught his attention.
Slowly, I could see his head begin to turn,
And I knew he would see me in turn.
If I ran he was sure to attack from behind,
I didn’t like the idea of teeth in my behind.
It likely thought it could handle me with ease,
I smiled at him, trying to put him at ease.
He responded by also showing his teeth,
Razor sharp fangs, he was armed to the teeth.
I could feel my hair, standing on end,
I wasn’t optimistic about how this would end.
Yet, men with beards never cry,
With a bellow, I unleashed my battle cry!
“I’ll rip you apart with my bare hands!”
Likely he though the same about his bear hands.
I had more than a few fights under my belt,
With a sudden epiphany, I whipped off my belt,
As he lunged past me, I smacked his ass,
It was, admittedly, quite bad ass.
Without doubt, his temper was climbing,
Fortunately, I too, was already climbing.
Using my belt to hug the tree in a warm embrace,
Escape was a plan I would gladly embrace!
