Beating Hearts

A scripture written, on a stone, a hand carved heart of love

A forbidden fruit eaten, a forbidden love taken, as though angels

Brought them together, afflicted human temptation, the pleasures

The taste so sweet, the hunger for more, as the beating hearts thrive

Two people come alive, in body, and mind, sworn to each other, naked

Cautiously, overwhelmed with silence, but the sin of lust, alive

Spirits of peaceful awakening moments, in time, as two lovers grasp the apple, shaken

Now at last their hearts, beating faster, and faster, as they are forgiven

The serpent of evil watches, but the angels of love, no longer forsaken

Beating hearts of passion, of emotion, no one can stop them, it's destiny 

As their beating hearts fill the rose garden of eternity
