Poem -

Both Sides

Through Heaven and Hell,
My thoughts have traveledΒ
I didn't think that I would liveΒ
to this point in my lifeΒ
But I'm so happy that I never left
God held my hand the entire timeΒ
Never letting go even when I couldn't find home
He held it tighter and kept me warmΒ
Through every phase of my life
Even the times when I was a bad personΒ
I never want to return to the worst version
Of myself because others were hurtΒ
And that's something that I will regretΒ
For the rest of my life
Because of those times, I came to realize,
That human nature is not black and white
But a pale blue tide that moves closer to each side,
From time to time.Β
