Brand New Skin

Brand New Skin

She couldn’t understand why they said,
“Men are from Mars”
But now she knew well enough, stood wearing your scars.

You bled her dry,
Mind, body and soul.
Where her kind heart laid, was a massive black hole.

An empty shell of a girl,
With no fight left to give.
No tears left to cry, no reason to live.

Her life as she knew it,
In ruins by you.
Her existence in tatters, beat black and blue.

You consumed all of her good.
To make yourself feel better.
You saw her as your victim from the moment you met her.

But her good grew back,
Like a brand new skin.
Her eyes now saw the ugly truth about your life filled with sin.

And she got strong and escaped you.
She is doing, oh, so very well.
But you, my darling man... are going to hell!
