Poem -

Break up

You never gave a reason why
you just turned and walked away
All these years we’ve been together
Why don’t you want to stay

You just left me hanging
as you walked out that door
Turned you back on our relationship
And all that’s gone before.

If only you could have told me
What I have done wrong,
That made you feel this way
Maybe I could have changed things
That would have made you want to stay

I’ve loved you from that moment
when our eyes first met,
 A more perfect relationship
Seemed impossible to get

All them years ago
Across that darkened room
Each time that you touched me
My heart would start to swoon

A vision of pure beauty
I never thought would come my way
As you made me feel so special
With every word you’d say

The passion that we felt back then
Was compelling and intense
So how did it come to this
When all of the arguments
Seem to find me on defence

We both need to take some blame
For what led us to this place
Neater of us can admit our faults
So not to loose face
