A Burning Sky of a Native Man

A Burning Sky of a Native Man

Night falls with thundering sounds of shooting fire

Blazing flames, red, violet, blue, bright and dangerous

Teepees in furry, villages diminished, into the gray ash sky

Screams and cries, running for safety, caught in a slaughter trap

A burning sky of a native man, smoke fills the air with a beaten wrap

Ruins of a once proud family, of a Cherokee family, stained bloody

Where the land prosperous, now damaged by the wounds of mankind

Now into the kingdom of a promise, we travel none the less, for death

A burning image never to leave the burning sky, we live for the rapture of divine

Never to fade in the dust of the wind, but to live, in the land free from sin
