Burny Ferny

Burny Ferny

She stamped her feet and clapped her hands,
in those old days, the invisible grains of sands;
do you remember your past times, I betcha did,
it's gone, difficult to discard, even tho' I went and hid.

We ordered chateaubriand, I wanted medium, she wanted rare,
in that time, we seemed to have space to stand and stare;
now, life can be frenetic, although we're much older,
it was time to move on when one love grows colder.

We ran around the racecourse, exercise so careful,
she looked at me and said that your legs look dreadful;
there were bad things - not proud it was on my part,
if you make excuses, you really don't know where to start.

I wish you well, you probably wish my life was taxed at source,
like an old courting case, 'Your honour, he showed no remorse'.
