Carry On

Carry On

Why am I so mad
It was me
All I wanted
Was to break free
From Insecurities

Still you doubt my sincere motive
Your silence, my new found enemy
Keeping quiet you have chosen
To keep me stranded hopelessly

Punishment has found me
My heart's breaking
Afar you despise me
Incomprehensible aching

I've said my peace
I've paid my time
I'll always regret
That you aren't mine

Now I'm sitting high with a story to tell
Of the one who has cast a spell
And locked me up far away
With rooted feelings of dismay

The new me is shining free
The chains have broken
In my heart you'll always be
The one who's too out spoken

You're the one I wrote about
And that's all you'll ever be

Isn't it funny how
doing the right thing
Has only made you hate me
