I’ve given up on love because it gave up on me,
Once again my hearts broken, the one guarantee,
It’s one of those things because it’s happened so much,
It desensitises you, you lose all sense of touch.
This isn’t a story of where happiness wins,
Just a tale of a girl who loses before she begins.
It’s a tale on repeat, with the same story line,
Acceptance of defeat, a love on decline.
But the thing is, it’s real, this happened once more,
This fucking rewind is becoming a bore,
I don’t know how much more this heart can endure,
God please, have mercy, no more I implore,
But I know the score,
Having been here before,
So I’ve decided I’m gonna go back into to hiding,
It’s the only chance that I have of surviving,
And so once again this woman’s been broke,
It’s like life’s been playing a practical joke,
But I guess I’ll just do what I did before,
Pick up all the pieces and my heart from the floor,
Ignoring the hurt, the pain and the tears,
Cos let’s not forget, I’ve been doing this for years.
