Chasm

Chasm

In the quiet still of afternoon
A chasm came to be
Where darkness seen to cast a spell
And wonder set one free

Alight sweet moonlight – full moon talks
To those willing to be
A semblance of a full bright world
That glistens like the sea

That world becomes what one is not
Hope and chance and trust
As eyes depart the scene of dark
And spellbound show their lust

And in the heart of wonder found
One shares like ne’er before
And finds another sharing too
Felt deeply – to the core

So deeply that a chasm came
And in it they would find
That hearts when beating both as one
Become one’s true sublime.
