Christmas Wish

Christmas Wish

one by one I lit the stars, hanging them in heaven to guide you in the night.

Upon the ground, I covered in ivory snow that glistened and shone a path of light.

But you just looked melancholy and brought out your blazing sun and sighed;

It melted all my snow, and I watched as each star that I'd hung faded and died.

In the forest, I decorated the prettiest tree and at the top a fairy pirouetted a turn.

You chopped down my tree to keep your fire alight; and I stood and watched it burn.

My fairy flew from atop of the tree, to the palm of my hand with a Christmas wish.

And now we dance together under the moon turning and sprinkling our dust of bliss.
