Clouds

They have spooked-horse eyes

and scared child breath

The smell of flowers and salt

roses soaked in brine.

Arms are summer clouds

red birds fly below

swooping across blue-river wrists

settling in crimson dots

The clouds clasp each other

steel lies below.
