CONTRASTS

Contrasts

A billion glowing sunsets

A sunrise of pure gold

A multitude of snowdrops

And a lion's cage is closed

The exhilarating flight of a bird

Soaring high over tree-tops tall

The blessing of a warm glowing summer

And for ivory an elephant falls

The colours of a fairytale rainbow

A pot of gold at the end of the trail

A nightingale’s sweet song of joy

For the freedom of a whale

The gift of a fruitful harvest

A butterflies gossamer wings

A hedgerow burnished with berries

As the red fox has his last fling

Icicles sparkling like diamonds

The landscape a mid-winter dream

Snowflakes lazily flutter and fall

While brown bear silently screams

                                                From time untold mighty oceans

Have come crashing to these shores

A paradise for the highest mountains

And for a tiger to flex his claws

A vision of this world in contrast

A vision of peace and of strife

A vision of freedom from cruelty

And the animals right to life
