Convenient blindness

Any day we can switch on the news
And a repeat of the previous, we see, 
The gloom & violence, bloom unpruned
And the spread attitude is, what will be will be, 
Again politicians promise apparently what they know
A promise framed by emptiness, no cool will, 
Happily pat themselves on their backs 
Then on the constant take, resign then until, 
The country's debt rises, then told a different story 
People taken for fools, like we don't see, 
Politicians been & gone grow rich & secure
Services cut & peoples faith taken like another fee, 
Shout from the rooftop I feel strong & stable
A line pumped out from the sewers of grand, 
The people speak but unheard all the time 
Cracks shatter through the system via hand to hand, 
Switch on the TV, are you represented in truth 
A distance between people & downin' the street, 
Scars of frustration, loopholes on one side 
Our country's charm bruised, buried in the heat.
