Crimson Tide

Dedicated To The Fish Of The Sea

Crimson Tide

Crimson tidesĀ
Shall not defineĀ
In timeĀ
My reason and rhyme

For I will chaseĀ
Make hasteĀ
Dig deepĀ
To seekĀ
The wordsĀ
Beyond my troubled sleepĀ

Beneath the wavesĀ
That fiercely drag me down
To drownĀ
Never make a soundĀ
I foundĀ
StrengthĀ
Hell bentĀ
I write with clear intentĀ
ProfoundĀ
SoundĀ
That never runs aground

But rather rolls in wavesĀ
RelentlessĀ
Brave and trueĀ
I dwellĀ
Swell -
With knowledge I accrueĀ

I dare to share
To care
Make myself and all awareĀ
Within this crimson hue
This fish of the seaĀ
Shall turn these waters blue
Ā

The fish of the sea

Hi Gwen, well where do we start eh? First of all, I just wanted to say thank you so very much. Whenever you post, comment or read, you always lift me up with your words. Your poetry inspires me, and (as I said previously XD) challenges me to push myself as a poet.Ā

I guess now I`ll start my comment on this poem in particular. Not just because of its dedication but how, as Jim said, "It is right down my reef". Trust me, I reckon I`m gonna come back to this one more than a few times XD...

Crimson Tides... after reading, I understand the meaning of "Blood in the water"... dark times for a fish... a metaphor for hardship. So very creative and in my time on Cosmos an area I haven't explored lol. Its utterly fantastic.

Shall not defineĀ
In timeĀ
My reason and rhyme

Tieing your title straight into the verse, something inspiring in that. "Bad times, choices and actions do not define who I am"

Make hasteĀ
Dig deepĀ
To seekĀ
The wordsĀ
Beyond my troubled sleepĀ

Make haste... yes, a topic and word right down my reef... perhaps it stems from stress and anxiety... rushing around. Searching for words, searching for meaning, searching for purpose.... Love it. Deeply resonating

That fiercely drag me down
To drownĀ
Never make a soundĀ
I foundĀ
StrengthĀ

To drown... love this line, but most of all I love how it was tied in with the lack of sound. (Sorry for making this about me!) But I used to have a poem series/phase around my thoughts being white noise... Hell might have minor ADHD but I never got tested XD... I enjoyed the connection here.

Finally, turning waters blue... I think, no, I know that`ll be the theme of my next poem. Making life better for others... better for other fish of the deep blue... theirs a special set of anthologies and phrases triggered here... for a poem I have been reluctant to write. Little Fish 3... lol... sorry it sounds completely stupid and won't make sense now... but thank you so much Gwen... I think you have found my voice for me.

Again thank you much for the dedication and smashing this write out of the park. Sometimes, when I read something very special, I think to myself, "Damn I wish I wrote that!"Ā

This is one of those times XD.

Peace and smiles to you Gwen.

Your words here mean so much.

Sincerely,

Max

Ps Please don't feel obliged to comment as long as I did! I tend to ramble I know!!

Hello Max,Ā
firstly never say sorry for having a good ramble or as I call it waffle ;) I love it. It’s part of the enjoyment of being here on Cosmo. To share our writes and thenĀ our waffles/rambles in comments.Ā

You have inspired me alsoĀ whilst I have been here, and how could I forget the poem you dedicated to me! :DĀ I wanted to write something for you for a while. I finally got the urge for a Fish spill. I am chuffed that not only did you enjoy it, but you connected to it also. Which just makes the gift giving even more fulfilling :)Ā

Cosmo is a fab place to find inspiration and growth in our writings. It has taught me a lot so far. I am sure in time, I will learn even more from you lovely folk.Ā

Looking forward to reading Little Fish 3. Is there a 1 and 2 ? I will look in your works just in case. But you were so deserving of a poem my friend.Ā

Thank you for your kindness and support MaxĀ

Your friendĀ

Ahh I love it! Waffles it is!! I agree Gwen, the Comos does provide an soothing environment. Never have I seen negative comments or posts. There are minor disagreements... but they never break down into all out war like Twitter!!
Damn shame you weren't active around a year and a bit back... before all of covid... when a group of poets called "Cheries Angles" were at their height and we had heaps of poets contributing from China, India, Israel and the UK... even the VIPs have gone quiet... ahh but I guess we can create our own Cosmo eh?

Once again thanks so much for your kind words... and yes, Little Fish was my first poem on Comos... the origin of me as a poet... I think I wrote it nearly 4 years ago, didnt post it till I found Cosmos...little fish 2 was written a yearish later... they are the most personal poems I have written... behind the mask of the Fish... Now, I'm ready to begin writing another.Ā
Peace to you Gwen.

NO THANK YOU for your kindness and support :D

A superb homage and tribute poem for the one and only and gifted Max to enjoy and cherish.
A real journey of poem and Gwen loved reading your final closing payoff that adds to the positive and poetic sum of things.
And Jim said it superbly saying this is right down his reef!šŸ˜‚
Top marks given and by the looks of it Max is a happy poetry bunny.
Gwen, you are a good person with an equally good heart and this place and its members are lucky to have you here.ā¤ļø
