Dana
Dana had frozen instantly,
When she saw the creature look,
Hiding in some thickett,
Fear is what then took.
The creature could hear her heartbeat,
But couldn't quite figure out where,
It looked in through some branches,
But Dana was not there.
The creature drained away from sight,
And Dana tried to see,
She edged out of the thickett,
On where the creature could be.
She heard the creature panting,
Right up close to her right ear,
She knew that she didn't have long,
As the creature drew in near.
There was a noise not far away,
And the creature spun to see,
A raccoon rumaging in a pile of junk,
Gave Dana time flee.
Dana ran for her dear life,
As her heart began to race,
Adrenaline and the fear of death,
As she quickened up her pace.
The creature wasn't far behind,
As it accelerated in speed,
Dana's heart was like a beacon,
And the creature needed to feed.
She turned around to see how far,
That the creature had gained in ground,
Smashed in the face by a low branch,
Lying on her back is where she's found.
The creature made it to Dana,
And its menacing face was seen,
The creature lunged toward her chest,
As Dana woke up from dream.

Oh very good! An enjoyable read. I have a soft spot for narrative poems that tell a story x
Thanks Being Me, I love to paint a picture. I was thinking about the older movies where someone is running from something, then 9 times out of 10, they fall over
Haha...like Hammer House Of Horror!
