Dance With Me

Soft whimsical, childlike drawings, in my mind I see them dance
With tender shapes, of pastel chalk, tiny insects, and waltzing flowers
Leaping frogs on lily pads, spiders spinning webs, while butterflies flutter by
The robin with his red breast, pecks at the earthworm, and ants are parading
Dance with me, let nothing get in the way, may our hearts tease, while we play
I shall sing you a song, and you shall write me a love note, if I fall, you shall catch me
In the meadow of summer, in the heat of everlasting passion, I dream of you
The green of the grass, it tickles our fancy, while we kiss behind the apple tree
I carve your initial on the trunk, we become one, as we lay in the sun
Taking advantage of these tender moments, we hold on to its beauty
The first time we danced, with naked eyes, the babies breath, so fresh
As we tumble down the hillside, you are at my back, while we take a chance
To be young, to be innocent, in every way, dance, dance, dance, oh please
Dance with me again

I could almost smell the scent of summer in this one, Nancy...really beautiful poetry...capturing the romanticism and idealism of being in love and the pulse of nature as well...forget the approaching snowstorm, let's just stay here...terrific write enjoyed reading...hope all is well with you, Nancy Â
