Dark Shadows

The night taunts my mind, with the shadows of the past

Where my soul left my body, and it will not rest

Until my native blood comes back to life through trust

Not strangers, but friends, not enemies but brothers, not threatened

Trusted, mindful, not haunting footprints, but people with knowledge

Dark shadows of the past, now fade into the trust of our faith

As the red hawk follows and we are guided by the mountains calling

Our names, Cherokee
