The government sweet talk us

The banks are just plain broke

Its all become a farce you know

They don't care about us folk!

Life has gotten harder

Bills have gotten huge

My overdraft is swelling

It’s going to bust in this deluge

Running's not an option

I can't afford to buy the shoes!

So how do I escape this mess?

It's not the bank that's gonna lose

My husband is plain worried

And the kids they feel my stress

The walls are closing in now

How did we ever reach this mess?

I wasn't over zealous

Through my spending, that I know

But no matter how we battle

The cracks they plainly show

Money's now an evil

And I hate it more and more

When the bills come through the letterbox

I hide behind the door!

The children don't go wanting

Of course they mustn't know

It's hard to keep this act up

But my life is one big show

I lie to all my family

I hide it from my friends

"We are doing fine" I say

When will all this lying end?

I've no longer got an option

This nightmare has to stop

I can't go on defending

A life that is a flop!

My husband can finally breathe now

(Alhough my kids they’ll be upset)

Cos the bills they will be paid

And there will no longer be a debt

Suicide's for cowards

Or so the holy people say

But in my case it was tantamount

To solving debt we'd never pay

The service was a sad one

but the bills still rose and rose

cos my life insurance policy

for suicide was FROZE!!
