Poem -

Dementia is a Heartless Bitch

Dementia is a cruel and heartless bitch, I’ve gotta say it plain.
There’s no other way to say it, when she’s fucking with your brain.
There was nothing that my mother couldn’t do, now not much that she can.
Cause Dementia is a coldblooded killer, that tortures you again & again.

Dementia will not leave you, with a single shred of pride.
She will strip you of everything, that was good of you everything inside.
She will strip you of your bank account, cause she works so very slow.
She’ll leave you wandering all around, with no place left to go.

She will take away friends & family, cause she’s a jealous bitch.
She will not leave you anyone, neither poor or rich.
She will make you paranoid, oh won’t that be such fun.
Dementia is an accomplished liar, that leaves nowhere to run.

Dementia plays no favorites, she’ll take anyone she can.
She’s ravaging the entire world, she’d like every girl & man.
She can get you no matter how you live your life, it really isn’t fair.
Cause Dementia is a ruthless bitch, that doesn’t seem to care.

powerful subject matter, Nancy Seberiano, written with elegance and grace, very strong word combinations to evoke astonishing imagery
'She’ll leave you wandering all around, with no place left to go.'
Repeating the word 'Dementia' and listing its characteristics is simply brilliant, love the way you wrote this, and the subject matter touches home, my mom is suffering with episodes; very frustrating to see, so I am in line with some of the language you used....don't believe I've had the honor of reading you before, it's a pleasure, cheers poet

You are too young to have to go through this.  I am pushing 60 HARD.     A lot of the time my mother does not know who I am.     But it is hard when she is waiting for dad to come home.    He died 15 years ago.    Thanks for your comments.
