Demons

Demons

I shiver as the cold brings heartless men.
Their eyes hold stern as demons shift their weight.
A concrete heart ceases to beat warm
and from where they come bleeds dry.
The now is where strangers display torturous games
an army of danger that has blackened daylight.
The words of peace haven't a voice that falls from their lips.
It is the sleeplessness of a nightmare that never ends.
I dare to blink for the danger of tomorrow shadows my door.
Darkness echoes the sounds that awakes fear
as evil brings a crimson tide that fuels a hell.
There are only the prayers of the faithful that shower a hope,
leading to an open door where breaking free
is given to whoever grasps the hand of God.
