Did you let yourself go

Did you let yourself go

You’ve let yourself go
Through these tragic times
Never your own doing
A build up of events
Kills you from the inside
You let yourself go
The old you did die
Nobody was there
To see how hard you did try
Through the agony and torment
Day’s pass you by

Did you let yourself go?
Did it slip away in the night?
Your own life you have thrown
We know it’s good to feel alive
To prosper and to grow
Our feelings they should thrive
Did you let your feelings show?
Left with no other way to survive
Did you let yourself go?
Did they take away your life?
Living by their standards
Taking their advice
Did they let you go?
Left to pay the price
