Must allow for basic differences
It's hurtful to always persist
Meeting half way allows for a spirit
Of progress to always exist

It isn't easy to remember at times
To listen and to understand
Other opinions that differ from ours
Allow our mind to expand

Always two sides to every issue
Must allow for other opinions
Isn't always simply black or white
Variances depend on vision

White is black or black is white
Interpretation of fact is a key
When people's ideology's an issue
Diplomacy must be guaranteed

Bottom line, no man is an island
All part of this immense oasis
