Dragon's Den

Dragon's Den

There was no place to hide, only in my dreams,
go to bed in disgust, not everything's as it seems,
they'd be waiting for me, the dragons in a row,
when I woke up, because there was nowhere else to go.

I'd give you the answer you just wanted to here,
then you'd stop but why you started was not really clear,
I am an expert in my field, not easily put down,
and yet, all of these dragons made me feel like a clown.

Your breath was warm, how do you put out a fire,
it was doubly so, as you were an object of my desire,
however, I finally removed the flames, no ignition,
this breathless, toothless ideology, was a new condition.

Now I miss the warmth, revelation, entitlement,
I'll always be wondering where an old flame went.
