Drama Queen

They say I’m just a drama queen
I stomp and shout and scream,
I must get my own view across
I don’t like to sound mean.
But no one ever listens
To the kind and gentle soul,
I’ve learnt to stand my ground
And to set and chase my goals.
There is no place for coyness
In a world so very loud,
You have to show your colours
And you have to stand up proud.
So yes I love the drama
I’m the queen of my own life,
I know exactly who I am
My tongue cuts like a knife.
My honesty is brutal
And it cuts right to a core,
But what you get is what you see
I can give you no more.
No apologies are made
Your offence is all your own
I’ve got my own problems to deal with
And no time to sit and moan.
But if you do betray me
Be assured this girl does bite,
I have to let the drama out
So I can travel light.
