Dream-Boat

*

You're in America, and here shadows are falling,
And the day is now done, as I wait for you calling
Me from America, across that cold sea;
Such distance is appalling,
But it just has to be.

*
You're in America, where the daylight is pouring,
With Floridian sunshine, and there's no ignoring
The fact that you're awake, while I'm fast asleep,
And I'm missing your snoring,
So I have to count sheep.

*

You're in America, where yesterday is going
At a much different rate, there's really no knowing
What time it is there, when I have the same dream;
Of myself slowly rowing,
Across that wide stream.
