Eclipse

Eclipse

The Sun
The Moon
hurtling
towards each other
meeting
at first unspectacular
begin to
fight
the Coldness of the Moon
cooling even the hot Light of the Sun
fading almost to
nothing
then before
the eye can blink
bursting forth into a display of celestial fury
casting everything on Earth into a night not night at all
and then just as quickly
the fighting ends
the devouring Darkness
of the Moon
lost again
to the Sun
the two of them
parting ways
almost
as if
nothing.
ever.
happened.
