Poem -

Eldest

Family, not only by blood
But also in tragedy
Sharing a bond
Letting not repeat the history

Hearing their sister cry
Slowed down by fear
But they have to save their dear
So he gives it a try

The blood on the floor is red
The book still in the monsters hand
He hopes she's not dead
In the frame of the door the eldest stands

What should he do?
What can he dare?
'I will save you
I will take care'

He stops the book
The monster shoots him an angry look
But he holds the wrist too tight
And for the first time it all seems right

He lifts his sister high
As he let's the hand fall down
And he wishes the monster would drown

Her eyes are closed
She just turned eight
And her smile is burdend with such a fate
She has gotten worse than most

He passes his younger brother
Who cleans the scatters
But for him it doesn't matter
As he flees the monster they call mother.
