Emotions

One might say the opposite
faith is doubt but I say its fear,
the fear the end up ruining lives,
the fear that feeds on reality
and feeds us delusions

We end up planting our roots so
deep in people's lives before we
know our true significance in theirs
I'm not sure whether its stupidity,
fear of rejection or ending
up miserable and alone

That's the danger of human nature,
human emotions,
we end up mistaking our thirst for comfort
as love,
sympathy for care and,
selfishness as protection

Then how do we know the sincerity
of our emotions,
that what we feel will stand the test
of time.............
we don't, we just believe and hope
but careful where we wind up
because with every disappointment
a piece of our hearts is broken
that can never be fixed,
then with time there will be nothing
left to give
