Empty Barrels

Empty Barrels

Starved by my desire, I can only hold on to memories of the past

Lost in battle, my family, my children, my life, a living tragedy

Where barrels filled with bullets, fired, death ran red, over every valley

Our people were strong, not strong enough, the innocent dead, all of victim

My pride, stricken by the rage, the attack, of uncalled duty, we were all to blame

Where shame, for those that fired the shot, as I only hold empty barrels

As I am of native man, my arrows only fly, as far as they can, wounding the enemy

But not fighting the evil of the source, only time will find the true answer

The answer, of why, and where, of spirit lost, of taken souls, never to live in peace

Though I am living, at the moment, and my promise is the same, I hold onto empty barrels

Because this is not the native way, and the blood shed, on the horizon

Will lead me to another age, another time to live, with a new family on the way

Empty barrels, I have never trusted, only native strength, will set us free
