It was my first day in heaven, I was very scared,
my old friends gone, I wondered if anyone cared;
it was warm but not from sun, a sort of radiance,
I was to learn that not everything made sense.

At least it wasn't the other place, gave a shudder,
didn't I recognise someone - yes, it was my mother,
she was wearing a Peter Pan collar and court shoes,
her favourite outfit with yellow, greens and blues.

We spoke so long, was a hundred before she was gone,
she asked me if I was working and how was Anne,
this was amazing, I blinked to see if dad was somewhere,
and my goodness, yes, there he was, sitting on a chair.

I haveĀ  so much to tell you, I can only stand and stare,
especially as I'm up here and you're all down there.Ā
