Faded

Faded

I wanted to embrace fresh air
I wanted to breathe
I wanted to feel my hair flow
Through a summers breeze
I no longer wanted to be afraid
I wanted to leave the past in the past
Let it all fade

The lies my mind told me
I would often agree
It was a struggle
To spread my wings
To let myself fly free

Eventually the pain will subside
And this hate and resentment
I feel inside will disappear
And my path will one day become clear
Life is all about the journey
And embracing what’s done is done
I’m slowly learning to love
Who I have become
