Fall is in the Air

Spiders are making their webs larger and larger, the grasshoppers are jumping from the dried cornfields

Locusts are singing at dusk, the winds are blowing through the foxtails and the cattails are a dark chocolate brown

The dragonflies are getting wrestless, closer to the flight they will travel the waters edges

The moon is a perfect ball of magical golden erray in sky night as it moves into a mystical cloud with a face

The evening is becoming cooler and just a hint of frost touches the tops of the grass and leaves

The apples are falling from the tree and the pears are beginning to ripen for the canning jar

The honeycomb is filling fast, and the bees are pleasing the bread and butter on my plate

Squirrels are busy gathering their acorns, and hide them for a winter gathering

The leaves are changing one by one two by two and hundreds at a time with amber, yellow, reds, and orange colors of a beautiful fall painting

Soon we will be raking up the leaves, and the children will jump into them with glee

Football games, with hotdog stands, and popcorn in one hand, a candybar in the other

Kicking the leaves along the sidewalks, the smell of the cool morning air, leaves fill the yards like blankets they cover

Weiner roasts, hayrack rides, and smores over the campfire, telling ghost stories

Pumpkins for sale, I'll make mine with a frightened smile, as my black cat sits by on the porch steps

Colorful mums brighten the gardens as we say goodbye to the monarch butterflies as they go off on their journey

Without a care in the world, the crisp air feels so good, it's breathtakingly beautiful a new season, it's autumn and fall is in the air

And love is in the air today
