FATAL KISS

FATAL KISS

The trust I had in people
Has been pulverized by deceit
I have lost all hope in the friendship of mankind
Truth has caused me pain beyond expression
My loyalty and obedience rewarded with expulsion

A career of two decades
Was snuffed out like a candle in the wind
That which I loved, ravished by a trusted friend
My heart, mind and body, is weary of life's rewards
How deep the wound of a trusted friend

All the words of Webster's dictionary
Could not define the hurt inflicted and pain experienced
By the lips of a friend and trusted confidant
My life lays ruined, my future obscured by uncertainty

I was accepted in the fold my enemies
Deceived by their words of inclusion
Embraced by the arms of destruction
And kissed by the lips of the deceiver
The one I called friend.

Hi Pauline.
Thanks for your comment.. And yes I have met my Brutus .. That so called friend that betrayed my heart friendship of trust.. Yes! Even my friend..
In this I have learned that because you are a friend to someone, doesn't mean that they are a friend to you.
