Someone is gone

Denial is my best defense

But, it doesn’t last long

People to call

Arrangements to make

A date to set

Before I finally break

Death is final

Where do they go?

Do they know they’ve gone?

How I wish to know

Are they watching over me?

Is there something beyond?

Another type of life

Breaking our mortal bonds

Becoming new energy

Transformed spiritually

Travelers on a new path

A hopeful possibility

Finality

Too painful to believe

I hope for something more

Another level to achieve

A world beyond this

For loved ones to wait

When we complete our journey

They shall open the gate

For is death final?

The living will never know

Of the worlds beyond

Until, it’s their time to go.
