Flawless lines

Flawless lines

A blinking light in the corner of my room is keeping me up at night
its a small thing
hidden away on my desk
such a thing as to often be ignored
but its funny how in the darkness
the dimmest of these docile things seem so much brighter
I am at the mercy of the lights ever blinking
restlessly rolling in screen cast shadows
I cannot escape their glare
But these lights were never meant to be turned off.
They were meant to work
while I
rest.
so I toss and turn
ever so peacefully assured
that its working, for me
the blinking light is ever faithful.
Every second on the second it is pace-ful
Never has it been  still. Never will
Always moving.
This machine
At 3 am it is still
whirring

Im still awake
for we are building a bottle that we could never help
but to shake
and spray
We could never help but to celebrate its emptiness as it foams over our fears
with Champagne prayers that we are here
and here to stay
we shake
Corks popping as we're pushed out defeated once again
A bit of bark who has found that wine is no longer needed
In aching mornings
we are mourning
that purpose that we have lost like our sobriety
in drunken bliss we gave away
Everything
Our family
is slowly
ending

Take a deep breath
then inhale once more and
tell yourself
that it amounts to more than a shrug of lungs
Insignificance is a hell of a drug
That We just love to peddle and sell
so we are sold
that easier is better
Mankind,
Ever the forgetter, Forgot that the best will always win-When     they built    a better self
Bitter winters of dim prospects fill those scotches
Those artful projects on our shelves
filled with everything it means to have a self
those paintings
Those dreams that weren't designed to win
those dreams that weren't designed at all
On these screens of  light at night
Long footsteps are drawn
through the lakes of our very air settling
We splay out
In binary dewdrops
splay out in white noise
spread in blinking light
laying awake
to our imperfect eyes the stars look an awful lot like you,
Our child,
our blinking.light
Appearing nothing like We do
bringing to us that dreaded feeling that we
are as small as we actually are
we are Wallowing in our humanity
As we become Outdated
Outdone by our children

On that blinking light rightly the screen reads
Dogs can learn the most amazing tricks
Like building a better version of themselves
The dog will be kept
But it won't be missed
Beset by the passionless kiss that it wrote for its children to give it
Before these Flawless lines
before this blinking light
your art looks foolish

Hi Aaron,

My goodness, I feel like I've just been to The National Gallery and spent an hour mesmerizing "Vermeer".  But, I need hours to analyze your amazing work of art!  However, being inundated with readings as Junes' Ambassador, I can take but minutes. So, I can only touch on its' surface, but I will pin it for a future read.  A few observations though.  "The fault dear Brutus is not in ourselves, but lies in the stars, that we are the underlings".  So is ending our beautiful family, Mother Nature's children slowly being murdered by mankind's greed.  A few of us cry, many more purge.  How do we stop the genocide?

Peace and Love,

xox Larry

Thank you so much for your thoughtful and intersting comment.
The brutus line is a surprisingly similar parallel, youve got quite a mind to spot that.
Very few actually stop to really analyze a work of art. Its a rare quality and I respect and appreciarte it greatly
