Floating Deck

Floating Deck

I confused a blessing
With a devilish trap
It's sad and confusing
For our lives do not come with a map

Distance was a blessing in disguise
Though this discovery was to my demise
I am glad to lay this book to gather dust
My hearts metal walls are up, with strong protection from your worthless lust.

I was walking on a floating deck
The boards wobbled with every step
I had wondered when this train would wreck

It ran off the tracks
Crashing to the woods
I have my reasons, I have my facts.
Love will not be of what I am at lack.

The floating deck sunk
The train veered from it's tracks
I left your side for I have rules to abide
