Folds of the Mind
(Photo by Marie Swann)

As the moonlight hazily sleeps on lily white walls,
And molton dreams drip from street lamps outside.
Darkness dances merrily in corners; in alleyways,
Just as our memories delight in folds of the mind.
Words lay on lips, waiting, breathing and sighing;
And glistening like frost on burnt amber leaves.
Copper and brittle, fragile and delicate, whisper;
in their thousands, millions, for nobody but me.
Night is safe from day, I am safe from tomorrow,
Until the sky, shatters the glass to melt the walls.
Life, naked as new paper, begins another chapter.
As the sun swallows whole, stars strung like fireflies.
