Fool Me Twice

Lost between two salty shores.
You abandoned ship to a round of applause.
You dropped like an anchor at my own accord.
Itβs time to face lifeβs consequences.
Now you canβt ignore;
That you canβt fake me.
Canβt seem to break me.
Canβt seem to shake me the feeling. This possibility.
Probably. Itβs imprudently obvious to me.
That abhorrently, your apology.
Is not accepted.
Not acceptable. Not reliable. Indistinguishable. Undeniable.
No, I concur, it occurred. You spoke like a serpent.
And your lies went unheard.
It was undeserved.
Itβs fine, I learned.
And I know these words might read weak. β If you think so Iβd laugh!
At least my hearts on my sleeve.
And my life is a spark.
Unlike yours. That you adore. Through your tainted mirrors, and locked bedroom doors.
Through your framed photos and the glasses, you wear.
No, your apology went unaccepted.
No, donβt you dare.
No, you canβt have it both ways.
Life lays one path for all of us.
And Isnβt that fair?

Max, hope you are well and apologies for being late on your latest but as always a good journey and one well worthy of its destination.
For you don't mince your words and shoot from the hip while expressing them.
Some relationships are the stuff of nightmares when people part-- unamicably.
And if you're a friend with a foot in both camps and caught in the middle ground, then that friend is up shit creek when both seek consul.
But a person needs to air their views and that need to let off blood boiling steam, to vent what emotions and fervour are compressed if said relationship rises to that red level and climbing, that human process of being human.
And you are right, for there is only one true path laid by life, hard to find yes, but once discovered...It IS fair.
And also great video, reminded me of Pete Heller and his Big Love hit in places.
Thanks Max and this so so poet wishes you well.

Hi Shaun, thank you once more for your comment, in honesty, I read it without reading this poem. I don't want to read it ever again. That's what I like about Cosmo, the ability to pin your thoughts on the wall then forget. All we can do is move on. Thank you for helping me do that my friend. Sincerely once more, Max
