Footsteps

..."And she took my heart" he said,
"She is my friend afore all else,
Her face as polished as a wave
Smoothed pebble against my dead soul."

Quench that long lived rage
And let that soul discover again
The crisp beauty of the blank page
An untouched, snow drenched garden,

A playground for her footsteps.
